Bonus: Time Management

As you start your journey of entrepreneurship the hours of your day are going to get shorter. Time management is tricky and I have learned over the years that I just cannot do it all. Time management is a major concern for many women. It gets a little sticky when you have a full time job, household responsibilities, a family and now a new business in the mix of the things that need your attention each day. I wanted to provide a few tools that help me get it done. I will admit some days I get it right and some days I don't but in order to keep my sanity I have to use tools to keep me on track.

I have provided a cleaning schedule that I use to keep my house in order. This cleaning schedule is just an outline for you to use. Please feel free to make any adjustments to create your own schedule. I challenge you to try it for 1 week to see if it works. It truly helped me keep my sanity because working from home in a messy house was driving me insane.

I have also provided a Daily Planner. I use both the Daily Planner and an app named Any.do to stay productive and get things done. The Daily Planner is a simple roadmap to help you stay on top of things by breaking your tasks down into chunks.

The Daily Planner is designed to help you focus on the top 3 tasks of the day. These are the big tasks that will help give you the biggest results. The next section is the remaining tasks you have for the day. Fill in the to-do list and check things off as you go. Next, are your follow ups for the day. There is money in your follow up. I am not the best at follow up so I have to force myself to make sure I get it done. This area is set aside for you to list the 3 top people you need to follow up with each day. Last but not least, is the Today's Gratitude and Notes section. In order to obtain success you need to remain humble and remember the things that make you happy. Use Today's Gratitude section to list the things that you are thankful for to make sure you focus on the positive things in life.

These tools are no magic solution but can assist you in creating a time management schedule that works for your daily life. Take the challenge and try it for 1 week and send me a quick note on how things are working out. I hope these tools will get you one step closer to finally launching the business of your dreams.

*Another bonus tool I use is an app called, Be Focused. Be Focused follows The Pomodoro Method. The Pomodoro Method is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo. It is a hyper-focused time management method I use to get things done. It breaks down your tasks into 25 minutes blocks. After the 25 minutes is up you are allowed to take a 5-10 minute break. After the break, you complete 3 additional pomodoros. After all 4 are complete, you are permitted to take a longer break (30 minutes or more).
